Cool catch:) I would've had goosebumps followed by a "woooow" and then....get the camera!:)
So glad to hear you let him stay. They do move fast and hide from the camera.
Great shot! Glad I wasnt there ;-)
Ooooooh! It's been a few years since I've seen a snake in my garden. So Jealous!
That is a very handsome ribbon snake. I'd let him stay too :)
Very cool snake - I've hardly seen a snake this year! (or anything they might eat)
Gosh, I know it's beautiful, but honestly it makes me want to jump up on a chair or run in the other direction. I wouldn't harm it, but I'd want to get away from it--even if it's harmless. ;-)
He's so cool looking. I'll be he felt like he was being watched by you! BTW, I read your tour post on my phone in Tucson and really loved it and the thematic way your organized it - great photos. Made me sorry I missed it.
Thanks so much. There was so much inspiration on that tour! We missed you during the preview, Diana. I hope you make it to the tour this Saturday. I'm working the Doyle/Matthews garden in the afternoon. Come by and say hi!
Love my snakes too..yours is very pretty.
We had a snake in our garden swallowing up a bull frog the other day... it can stay in our garden too... :-)
What a beautiful specimen. You obviously have a very healthy habitat setup. Which becomes its own reward when sights such as these become part of the experience. Thanks so much for sharing!
TexasDeb it makes me so happy to know that I have friends like y'all who come here to visit and take as much pleasure from the sighting of a little snake as I do. Pure JOY.
I'm silently screaming. If I had seen it in person, I'd be screaming out loud!
Just beautiful! I love snakes in the garden.
Rather pretty! I just found a little snake in the garden yesterday - only the second one I've seen here! It was harmless, though. I almost wish it was big enough to cause some grief to our voles!
Beautiful but also scary! The ribbon snake looks a lot like our harmless garter snakes. I caught one as a kid and kept it as a pet. Nice photo!
Tell him to send his cousins to my house! They'll be fat and happy. :o)
very beautiful reptile and very beautifully captured on camera. You're lucky you have harmless snakes - ours are all deadly.
How beautiful he looks hiding amongst the leaves. I really like small snakes like these, harmless to us but so beneficial in the garden.
He certainly blends right in there among the leaves. I actually saw a snake in the garden this summer, but he was so quick to hide, I barely caught a glimpse of him as he disappeared into the flowers.
Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind. "Pooh!" he whispered. "Yes, Piglet?" "Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's paw. "I just wanted to be sure of you." ~A.A. MilneThanks for taking the time to visit!
